Gets a little nippy going through the pass
Then it was like I was in The Rockies. It didn’t take too long till I started seeing a bit of white on the roof tops. My first thought was ‘oh look frost’ and I contemplated taking a picture. But then the cold crept in. I could feel it in my chest with every breath, especially when I was pushing it out and taking big gulps. I have a snood (that scarf thing that Nasri and Tevez got int trouble for wearing last year) around my neck, and a bandana over my head and ears. Don’t laugh, it’s not one you tie a knot in and then wash clothes, it’s like a cylinder that goes over your head and is possibly the best thing I ever bought after the bike. It isn’t bulky like a hat and keeps you warm without making you sweat. Plus you can wear it as a hat or just on your ears or as a scarf or over your face. I tried breathing through the snood but it was too difficult so I pulled the bandana over my mouth and put my hood up to cover my ears. Fuck me that was some cold but I was sweaty too from having 4 layers on my body and it was only a matter of time before that sweat turned cold. Told myself to just suck it up til we got to Okehampton and then think about what to do next. This was about another 25k, a nice stretch to start the day with endless hills snaking up and down through white frozen fields.
